Ah, those Fabulous Fifties! This
section will explore some of the many wonderful lighting outfits
available from 1950 to 1960 or so. This part of the website is a
collaborative effort with my good friend Chris Cuff, and we'd like to
welcome you to the world of "Modern" 20th century Christmas lighting. Although Chris and I have never met in person, we are developing this part of the site together: a perfect example of how people can become friends over the Internet! Chris lives in New York State, while I live in Tennessee. Together, through the Internet and over the phone, we're working on making this addition the best that it can be. Please feel free to e-mail either of us directly using the links here with your comments, questions and suggestions. We hope you enjoy this new addition to the world of vintage Christmas lighting! E-mail Chris Cuff HERE Collectors usually use 1950 as the dividing line between "antique" and "modern" with respect to electrical Christmas lighting, although many of the sets you'll see pictured and described here are more than 50 years old! A huge variety of lighting outfits were available in America during this time, and you'll find information about them, along with novelty items, aluminum trees and color wheels, and other electrical things used in postwar America to celebrate Christmas.
