Trying to research a Christmas display lighted star that I believe dates to the late 50's at the newest. It's appx 27 inches across & lamped with 40 C9 Christmas tree bulbs in 3 colors. (I've since relamped it in LEDs - 40 incandescent bulbs pulls lots of power - & gets really hot, as you can imagine! Cool thing, relamping does not change the piece itself - just makes it usable.)

Looking at the box, it was bought locally, but there's a stamp on it that says "From NOMA Lights Inc / St Joseph MO".

It was originally used as a Christmas display piece for my late father-in-law's store, & believe he later used it at home. My late husband inherited it, & I now have it up. (Have scads of the old incandescent bulbs along with it.)

I'd like to know more about this! Do have photos of it to help research.

Do you know anything about this very neat piece? Can you tell me where to find out more?

Thanks very much!

Merry Christmas!!

Could you send me a photo or so? Just reply to this e-mail and attach it. The hard part would be dating it.

NOMA was more of a manufacturer's co-op than a single company, so if you you have St Joseph MO on the stamp, that's probably where it was made. That said, the factory may have had a different name over the doorway.

Merry Christmas, by the way - - - -Paul

I can indeed send a few pix - see below . . . it's very well made, & while not real heavy, it definitely has some 'heft' to it. Given its condition, I'm thinking it was never actually hung outside - altho believe it was built well enough to do so.

Date-wise - well, the shipping label doesn't have a zip code to the local seller (Leff Electric - Cleveland OH), so it's pre 1963.

All in all a very neat piece I'm enjoying sharing each Christmas.

Thanks so much again!

Wondered if you've found out anything on this star?

Here's that label on the side of the box talking about Life magazine - wondering if was advertised to people for their homes?
