Post subject:  Yulelite Tree

Some time ago my wife and I were visiting relatives, and as I am sure we have all experienced, when you collect something, someone has something you just have to have. Well, we came home with two of these trees. They are from Yulelite and judging from the appearance have got to be from the late 60's to early 70's. They are not visca but are made of lightweight plastic tinsel, along with plastic balls. They came decorated except for the aluminum bells, which I save from my mothers estate, and decided to add to the tree. Both trees were broken from their bases, the lights didn't work, and the boxes were pretty grubby. With a few evenings worth of work I made one from two and it looks kind of neat. After being informed it will never grace the living room at Christmas, it now occupies the top shelf of the light box display case.

Thanks for sharing. Our family's first artificial Christmas tree was made of this material.

It was taller; it DID grace the living room for several years, in the 1960s.
