Having seen this on ebay for much more, I was thrilled to find this 1960's kitschy--and very long--plastic Santa and sleigh made in Japan novelty for a dollar! A single lightbulb lights the house--it came with a flasher bulb--and it doesn't seem to pose the same fire hazards as some of the other novelties do! (That is, the house doesn't melt!)

That's really cute Maria, the Japanese produced some great stuff. Have you tried 4 watt night lite bulbs for cooler burning? |

You may want to try sliding lamp dimmers on vintage Christmas lighting because it cuts down on wattage and "melting". For example, if you use 15 volt miniature base lamps, it's always better to err on the safe side and add more lamps to the strand or add a sliding lamp dimmer. Sliding lamp dimmers can be found at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc. |
