Hi, here's my Santa novelty light. I was wondering if it's a Miller. He measures 16 1/2" x about 9" wide. My mother had one like it when I was a child. One thing doesn't seem quite right with this Santa though. His suit & belt have a flat finish and his boots are glossy. For some reason or another I seem to remember my mother's Santa having a glossy finish overall. Thanks for your help.

Nice Robeeyar, he is actually an Empire Plastics product from 1962. Paints used varied over the years of production and it is not uncommon to find the same item in both a glossy and or satin/flat finish. Type of plastics and temperature when paint was applied also will often affect the finish once the paint dries.

One thing I forgot to mention is that there's a round red paper tag on the cord. It reads " E-1892f Decorative Lighting outfit, Made in USA, Cat. #200, For indoor or outdoor use, Volts 115 - 125, UL mark." Thanks again :)

That would be the Undertaker Laboratories Electrical Standards Approval tag for the cord and socket set.

Er, Fred, that would be the Underwriter's Lab, unless I did the wiring myself, in which case you may be right. :-)
