Bubbler Advertising Signs

Post by jimarabia »

Hi, I've been a collector of Bubbler Advertising signs for over 30 years. In around 2003 I had sent some pictures to Bill Nelson of some of my bubblers. I don't know how many in the "bubble" community know these exist but would be interested to correspond with others who have a similar interest. From all the patents I've looked up the invention of the bubble light and bubble letters were simultaneous. The Advertising bubblers were made roughly from the 30's - 60's. There were not as many produced as bubble lights as there was more involved in the process. They came in a variety of colors depending apparently on what the advertiser wanted them to look like. At that time I'd briefly corresponded with Bill he had mentioned someone he knew, Rich Curry, who was producing bubble lights and might be able to make "letters" as well.

So . . . . my interest is to 1) share this area of "bubblers" with what I may or may not know and 2) meet others who have these themselves and would be interested in talking about what they have, where to find them (other collectors), etc.

I've attached a couple of photo's from my office just to show those who might not have come across them, what they look like.

Hope to hear from others.

thanks,

Jim Brown

Jim, the signs like the Luck Lager sign were actually the predecessor to Bubble Lights. Thanks for sharing!
