Stand-mounted Santa figurals

Ask about things you've come across that you'd like to know more about, as long as they're reasonably related to lighted Christmas decorations. When we figure out what you have, we might move the discussion to a more suitable forum (or start a new one), but this is a good place to start out.

Stand-mounted Santa figurals

Post by paulrace »

A reader sent the following question:

Could you please tell me the manufacturer of the lamp base that would have come with the Belsnickle 8.5 inch tungsten 1920 or 1930 santa figurative light bulb. I have the bulbs but need the lamp base and want them to be correct.

I am forwarding your e-mail to Fred Fox, who runs the Noellkat vintage Christmas decoration store on Etsy.

If you still have the light out and send us a digital photo of what you have, that usually helps. Just hit "reply all" and add the photo as an attachment. I could also add the photo to the forum page and see if any of our readers know it.

Fred may know from your description what you mean, but I'm not sure, so a photo always helps.

Best of luck and have a great spring - Paul

I once saw a snowman repro figural that had been mounted this way. I'll try to find the website

Those Santa lamps and bases date to the late 1920s, I can not be sure of who the manufacturer was of those composition bases as with ones I have seen, there are no makers mark on the base. I don't recall ever just seeing the bases come up for sale by themselves without the lamp. It's unrealistic that a manufacturer from the 1920s is even still in existence.

Just to be clear, my response wasn't referring to your post Maria, I responded to this person a while back and they appear to be under the impression they should still be able to purchase the originals after all these years.
Did you not get my response Paul?

Sorry, I think I made sure the reader had it but for some reason didn't get it posted here.

Probably a senior moment. Or week . . . .

Just to be clear, the reader has the figural; they were looking for the stands.
Again, finding these after so many decades would be tough, but if any of you have such a thing . . . .

Fred Fox got the request directly and replied:

Thank you for sending the pics, I know the bases you are looking for, sorry I do not have any. Those Santa lamps and bases date to the late 1920s, I can not be sure of who the manufacturer was of those composition bases as with ones I have seen, there are no makers mark on the base. I don't recall ever just seeing the bases for sale by themselves without the lamp. Sorry I can't be of any help.

- Fred

Anyone else have a lead on these? Thanks.

Out of curiousity, lets say Linekar misses weight and they fight at a catchweight after the picks were posted that they would fight at bantamweight. Would that null the decision?
