~1932 General Electric Fancy Mazda Lamps

GE produced these Miniature Base, colorfully painted, limited style, clear glass Figural Lamps in the early 1930s in most likely an attempt to compete with Imported Figural Lamps. Top photo shows a GE U.S.A. Replacement Box of these lamps and the bottom 2 photos are a NOMA Canada Boxed 8 Light Series Set.

Fred, thanks for the cool photos. Would you consider the base glass color "milk glass" rather than "clear"?
Also, it seems they might have a sort of molded-in "satin" texture which might have helped the paint hold?

Hi Paul, no, the glass used in these was clear, the white you are seeing is paint as well and was applied first before the other colors. The satin look is just the matte finish paint that was used during the day.

Not quite as hot as regular series cone lamps given the larger glass envelope on most.
