Canadian Figurals

Ask about things you've come across that you'd like to know more about, as long as they're reasonably related to lighted Christmas decorations. When we figure out what you have, we might move the discussion to a more suitable forum (or start a new one), but this is a good place to start out.

Canadian Figurals

A reader writes:

I was lucky enough to find four canadian figural vintage christmas bulbs at a garage sale. Two totem poles, one Indian chief and a beaver. I saw the totem pole on Pinterest. It said from Japan C7. Do I have something here? Thank you for your time.

I haven't seen these myself, so my first reaction is that they're pretty unusual, but I have a Canadian friend, Fred Fox, who runs a vintage Christmas decoration store on Etsy - Noellkat.

I've added him to my reply. Fred may be able to answer your question better than I.

Thanks for getting in touch - Paul

The Japanese milk glass figural lamps mentioned above belong to the NOMA of Canada Canadiana Set 1955. Lamps included in this set were a Totem Pole, Indian Chief, Indian Women, Eskimo, Beaver, Canadian Mountie and, an Indian Chief with Headdress not shown in my set. A short lived NOMA of Canada only production set making lamps and box extremely hard to come by.
