NOMA SNAP ON BUBBLE LIGHTS

Post by gary-g »

Let's talk Snap On's. We don't put them on the tree, but still want to use them. Had an extra Radko base, and they work great, plus it's a nine light base. Using 5 watt C-7 lamps in them. They will want to set a little lop sided unless the base still has the metal lamp guide inside . Had to experiment with different tubes till I found tubes that would bubble the best on the lower wattage lamps. I found the darker colors looked the best with Noma slug tubes, for larger bubbles. For the lighter colors I used Royal tubes that have a lot of smaller bubbles, that show up better. Looks real nice, plus you can hear the rattle of the Noma slugs.

I forgot to mention---you can occasionally find these bases on EBAY---the repros---for quite reasonable pries. Also Vermont Country Store had them with repro bubble lights for a number of years.
