A reader has matchless lights with metal bases and wonders if they're older or newer than matchless lights with bakelite bases. I DON'T know the answer myself.

I have come across old Matchless bulbs that have a metal base. I've seen Matchless with Bakelite bases, but not with metal. Are they older or newer than the Bakelites? And are they more valuable or less valuable than the Bakelites. The star on each of these in my possession are single row. Can't wait to hear from you!
